Golden skin is here now dry to your hands No season for orange No season for shame No season for abstract relations no need for muted hate Could you heal my condition? Could you soothe my affliction? it has two small "branches" right at its source. The two branches are the right and left wreaths. The left branch divides quickly into two slightly smaller, so there are three main branches. These are stuck on the surface and spread further into even smaller "twigs". The smallest twigs supply the entire heart.

Petrola 80 kickstarts 2020 with a compilation release packed with new music from a total of 11 artists. The compilation, titled "Expand", will be out on March 20th on cassette tape, digital formats, and as a T-shirt, and will be the second volume in the "Embrace, Expand, Exchange" compilation trilogy originally planned by the label.

While the first chapter "Embrace" released in 2018 mainly featured familiar faces in the Petrola 80 character gallery, the thought behind the sequel has been to expand the circle and release some nice tunes from artists that aren't necessarily affiliated with the label directly but whose music stands close to the Petrola 80 DNA.

The result is a diverse and multi-faceted 44-minute journey spanning all the way from Lighyer's energetic and hard-hitting soundsystem banger to the electro-acoustic ambient of producer and sound designer Rasmus Juncker.

Following the label's earlier collaborative effort with Opal Tapes, the Opal label boss completes the exchange with the groovy IDM-infused belter "Sweater Shop" under his Basic House moniker.

Avant-pop heroes Yangze and KhalilH20P, borrowed respectively from the Escho and Posh Isolation camps, goes off-grid with their deliveries, as Yangze offers a bright and pitched choir acapella, while KhalilH20P brings a deconstructed take on autotune trap anno 2020 on their submission "100 Tears".

Yearling and Piag3t represents the Aarhus-based Partners crew in style, blending soothing synth pads and sample cut-ups into each of their world of sonically unique sound design.
Gel and Francesca Burattelli resonates from the cutting edge of Copenhagen's current experimental scene, on this occasion showcased by the repetitive and addictive piano loops by Gel and Burattelli's mesmerizing vocal ballad "Condition".

The new and exciting duo project SATNAV that includes people behind the Big Oil label make their debut here on "Expand" with their twisted synth experiments, while jjjacob ends the release with his cinematic and emotional closer "Solitary Defeat".

Melancholic ambient, bangers for your woozy late night DJ set, mind-bending sonic experimentation and forward-facing alternative pop cuts - Petrola 80 lay it all down for you on March 20th 2020.
